IPSC is signing MOU with West Bengal

Congratulations!!!!! New Year has started with Good news. It is another feather in IPSC cap in such a short span of time. We must thank to IPSC Team, its members and those who are directly/ indirectly associated with IPSC. Indian Plumbing Skills Council is signing MOU with West Bengal Government during the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit, beginning January 7 to 8th January. Mr. Somany and Mr. Harpreet Singh will represent IPSC and sign the MOU during the summit.

West Bengal government has taken the initiative to invite Union finance minister Arun Jaitley and Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari to the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit, for the program. The Summit will include Sectoral Breakaway Sessions with the participation of leading industrialists of each sector .The joint objectives (West Bengal & IPSC) will meet the state demand of 50,000 numbers of Plumbers under RPL and Skills Training. The Program will be a joint effort of Govt. Of West Bengal and IPSC to start with a Goal of Skilling around 5000 plumbers in the first year in the (remaining part of 2014- 2015), followed by over 15000 plumbers each in the second and third year after which the number of people trained every year would gradually taper to a sustainable number determined by Market demand .

The IPSC role will be :

a) To identify skill gaps in the Plumbing sector, in order to initiate remedial action by identifying scope of vocational training requirements and its alignment with NVEQF/ NVSF.
b) To identify the training providers with expertise in Plumbing sector and invite them for conducting training in State of West Bengal.
c) Promote National Occupational standards in accordance with Govt. of West Bengal for various job roles and ensure that the course curriculum prepared by VTP is aligned to these National Occupational Standards.
d) To facilitate training of trainers after their assessment and help in provisioning of Master Trainers from the industry, on as required basis.
e) To ensure quality of training delivery by adopting a stringent accreditation process for training providers and certification of trainees, all of which would be approved by the industry experts.

IPSC has worked very hard and trying to turn every stone which is required for successful journey of IPSC. We are in process to sign few more MOUs with some other State Government in coming days.
